Self-directed approaches blog by Maree Ireland

Hi, my name is Maree Ireland.  Your project sounds very interesting and is
long overdue.  It is time that people
with disabilities who have been attending Day Services get control of their
funding to become more involved with community activities which are of interest
to them personally.

 

I would also like to direct people to my blog, www.field.org.au/blog/maree_ireland
which examines issues around Self Directed Approaches.  I hope this might help people if they have
issues with their funding. I hope people will contribute their views to my blog.

This network has a great blog providing heaps of information about person centred approaches. We are working closely with this group to continue the great work they began and continue to do in the region. They have brought together people with disabilities, their supporters and professionals in day services to have conversations and start thinking about how to make better lives for people with disabilites. Don’t forget to check out their blog – theirs and ours are all part of the continuim to think differently and innovatively about the way we provide support and opportunities for people with disabilties.
