The Guardians
2007, Etching
This etching is about the human condition. Each person’s solitary journey along their life’s path. The way that our past experiences influence our reactions to the present, which then becomes the future.
The Guardians are the unseen forces that protect and guide us along our journey into the future.
About the artist
I started printmaking in 1977 at L’Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. I had already studied for 4 years at Prahran Tech, majoring in painting, but when I started printmaking I knew I’d found my medium. Since then, I have been working mainly in etching, monoprinting and papier mache as well as working with artists as a technician from my print studio in Geelong. I is passionate about passing on the traditional French etching techniques and using them in a contemporary way.
My prints have been collected by Art Bank, the Deakin University Art Collection and the City of Warrnambool Regional Art Gallery.
